The genre of this film poster is horror, we can tell this from the image used and the colors used and the style of the 'm' (knife looking). From looking at the film poster, we can tell that the girl on the front cover is a victim and there's a killer involved who is maybe out to get her and there will probably be other victims. The title 'Scream' also hints to what the film is going to be about.

The colors are mainly dark and creepy to build tension and there are no real props used as it is a close up on someones face.
